A privately held manufacturing company hired a new president. He engaged Marilyn Marles (then ChangeWorks) to lead the first ever management strategic planning retreats. We held quarterly meetings to identify issues and priorities, set the strategic agenda, and then over two years, we launched and facilitated cross-functional teams that implemented the plan.

A small nonprofit agency identified the need to shift their mission and re-brand. In just two meetings with board members, staff and community leaders, we helped them create a new vision and mission statement, redefine their target audience and determine a new name for the organization.

The Human Relations Dept of a county government engaged its management team in a facilitated self-assessment using The Drucker Self-Assessment Tool. Building on the strategic initiatives that emerged from that process, we continued with the teams in each of the department’s operating units. We remained engaged with one of the teams for two years, helping them implement the plans and assess their progress.

Change and Transition
Leading organizations and individuals through change, whether planned or unexpected and imposed, requires an understanding of the organization’s readiness for change and the individual process of transition. Our first goal is to ensure that there is alignment among senior leaders, with the intent to foster a shared understanding of strategies, directions and goals throughout the employee group.
A blend of consulting and skills building is recommended to reduce the anxiety of change and generate creative solutions to its inevitable challenges. We will consult with you to:
| ● |
Understand the change process – what’s normal, what to expect, how to assess and build readiness.
|
| ● |
Define, plan and lead the change in your organization.
|
| ● |
Identify and manage personal employee responses to transition and change.

The Medical Dept of a Fortune 500 company reorganized and merged two units. Management was concerned about “turf issues” and interpersonal conflict that were observed. Marilyn Marles lead them through a revision of their vision and mission, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and workshop on “Working together as a team,” and conflict management. Leadership reported that staff were re-engaged and aligned with the new structure and goals.

- Facilitated meetings with the leadership team for team building and to set the foundation for the change
- An organizational self-assessment survey, with six-month follow up
- Staff training in Results-Based Measures
- Staff training in understanding change, and team effectiveness
- A cross functional and multi-level “transition team” to support the staff and hear concerns
